Event Requirements:
• We do not post a minimum age requirement for this event. If you are a parent considering signing your child up for either the 10k or the 20k, you are the best judge on whether or not they are up to the task. However, all racers under 18 must have a parent present to sign the race liability waiver.
• Unfortunately, due to the nature of the trails we use for this event, this event is not wheelchair or stroller accessible.
Participant Race Capacity: 500
Registration:
• Early Bird Registration for the 2024 Shaw Bloom is $49 until February 28th, 2024. After that the price increases $10.
• The registration tent will open at 7am on the morning of the race.
Start and Time Limits:
• There will be a single start at 9 am on Saturday, April 20th.
• 20k racers must maintain at least a 15 minute-per-mile pace through the first 10k to be allowed to begin the second lap.
Shopping and Q&A:
There will be a Q&A Session/Shopping Night on February 26th. All registered racers will receive an email with an offer to use that day at Alpine Shop Kirkwood. There will be a Q&A session concerning the course and the race from 5–6 pm that evening.
Packet Pick-up:
Packet pick-up will be available at Alpine Shop Kirkwood on Friday, April 19 between 5–7 pm. On race day, you can pick up your packet at Race HQ at Shaw Nature Reserve from 7 – 9 am. (Please note, parking is approximately a half mile away from Race HQ. Make sure you have enough time if you do not pick up your packet the night before the race!)
Shaw Nature Reserve-Specific Regulations:
Please note:
• There is no smoking allowed on the premises of Shaw Nature Reserve.
• Dogs are NOT allowed.
The park is open 8am-8pm, daily, but will open early for participants of this event.
Transferring Races:
Participants may switch between the 10k and the 20k races (and vice versa), by calling Alpine Shop at 314-775-2132 before April 13, 2024.
Weather-Related Cancellations / Emergencies:
Unless the Shaw Nature Reserve managers declare the trails unusable, the race will proceed rain or shine. Severe weather may cause us to alter start times and/or the specific trails used for the race. Absolutely no refunds will be issued for any race that is delayed, changed, or canceled.
