For everyone waiting patiently for news on Alpine Shop’s 2021 Trail Run Series, well, we’ve got some that we think you’ll be excited to hear:
We’ve finally received our permits to use Castlewood State Park again and will host the series beginning August 5 and continuing each Thursday in August for the next three weeks after that.
Due to the increase in people enjoying the park due to the pandemic, there will be some mandated changes to the races that we are working through; the biggest being a change in the starting line. At this point, we have been told that race HQ will need to be down by the old river access parking lot. Park officials will be manning the gate at the train bridge and only letting race participants into that stretch of parking to ensure that we have a significant number of parking spots just for us. (This is great news!) Unfortunately, it also means that we don’t have the pavilion to use any more. So, we have to figure out how to make that part work.
On the fortunate side, the ban on alcohol on that stretch of the park will be waived for us during the event!
Either way, we’re excited to announce that the Trail Run Series will return this year. We anticipate registration opening at 9 am, tomorrow, June 17 right here at offroadracingleague.com!
