Alpine Shop‘s fourth race of the Trail Run Series covered a 4.6 mile course in 90+ degree heat this Thursday, August 23. 113 racers participated in the run, the second-to-last in the series. Brian Lyons is in position to sweep victories in the last two complete Trail Run Series with a win next week following his eighth consecutive win with a time of 27:42.0. Second-place finisher Carter Snow completed the course just over 40 seconds later, three-tenths of a second ahead of the third-place finisher Kyle Barrett. Sunny Gilbert, winner of seven-consecutive races on the women’s side, unfortunately had to miss this race (as she let everyone know by comment on the course announcement earlier this week). In her place, Kris Pearce of Saint Louis took top honors for the women in a time of 37:23.1. Among kids, Kirkwood’s, weekly favorite Jonah Wright finished first with a time of 41:35.4.
