Council Bluff Lake, MO — A record-number of runners battled the trail, the heat, and the bluff to become finishers at the 2016 Smartwool Battle The Bluff Trail Half Marathon.
Just in its second year, the Battle The Bluff Trail Half Marathon more than doubled the number of registrations (82) and finishers (69), bringing new faces to trail running and to the peaceful shores of Council Bluff Lake in the Mark Twain National Forest. A new course record in the Women’s Master’s 50+ division (2:23:30) was set by Jennifer Hine of Wildwood, MO. Alpine Shop also supported the event with a paddling demonstration where runners and spectators alike could test out different styles of kayaks.
