BALLWIN, MO- After a muggy start to the series, we had a much more manageable evening on our hands for another night of the Alpine Shop Trail Run Series. 135 racers toed the line to a 4 mile course featuring a grueling last climb to the finish at Queeny Park Thursday night for race #2.
Steven Stallis (32) made a statement with his second consecutive victory in the Trail Run Series with a 6:20/mile pace for an overall time of 23:53.3 almost 30 seconds ahead of 2nd place and a full minute ahead of 3rd. Jason Difani (44) cruised his way into the second place slot this week as he motored with an overall time of 24:22.0. Andy Rains (31) slipped on the course, as well as on the podium this week as he rounded out the race in 3rd place.
Lisa Kennedy (41) took the leap to the top step this week after a 3rd place finish last week. She cleared the course with a time of 31:06.4. Kelley McGaughey (40) ran another 2nd place finish with an 8:22 pace. Savannah Gagnon (27) hit her stride this week for a 3rd place finish to round out the Women’s podium.
On the Master’s side of things, the Men were lead by Chris Bognar (53) taking the win followed by Kent Boyer (52) for second and Michael Montgomery (57) finishing in 3rd. In the Women’s Masters division, Jen Ullery (51) won the category followed by Anne Arias (54) and Susan Richmond (62).
