The third race of the 2024 Alpine Shop Trail Run Series will hit the trail on August 15th, 2024 at 6:15pm! We will once again host our friends from Optimal Performance Centers to make sure to take care of anything you might need with pre race stretching or working out the kinks after!
Race HQ will be at the same location as least week, nearest to the Weidman entrance (west side of the park). Enter the park and head up the hill. Take the first left after entering the park and follow the road until it ends at the large parking lot with race headquarters being the direct opposite corner of the lot.
Race Start will be just below HQ by the pond, just a short walk from the Smith Shelter.
We will start East towards the Owl Creek trail where we will turn right to head south and approach the Corporate Shelter where you’re faced with probably the toughest climb in the park as you go up to the Jarville House, formally the Dog Museum, on Hawk Ridge Trail. From here you’ll cross the parks main entrance and restrooms as you run parallel with Mason Road. When the trail forks, head left down the hill on White Oak Trail until it forks again. From here you’ll head right and go North on Dogwood Trail as it merges with Hawk Ridge. You’ll complete the whole Northern loop and stay on Hawk Ridge all the way back past the parking lot where we will loop around for a flat/ slightly downhill finish at the Smith Shelter.
As always, enjoy some beer, snacks, and hotdogs courtesy of 4Hands Brewing Co. and Great Harvest Kirkwood will kick in some free samples. Optimal Performance Centers will be there, too! Make sure to stick around for the Alpine Shop giveaways!
