BALLWIN, MO. — The course has been set for Race #2 of the Alpine Shop Summer Trail Run Series presented by Marmot! We will visit one of the signature castles that Castlewood State Park is named after, and dip our toes into Kiefer Creek in the final quarter-mile.
Our course this week charges straight up the Lone Wolf trail in a heart-pounding climb. Then you’ll switchback your way back down the hill, cross the bridge over Kiefer Creek, and visit the water station at approximately mile 1.8. After re-hydrating (if needed), you’ll run up another challenging climb on the Office Connector before descending via Grotpeter back down the the finish line. But before you cross under the Alpine Shop finish banner, you’ll splash through Kiefer Creek to finish in cool and refreshing style!
Advance registration is available here. On-site registration will be available from 5-6 pm on Thursday, August 13th at the Start/Finish Line (cash, credit cards, and checks accepted).
Approximate distance is 3.6 miles. (Please note that GPS units will vary widely at Castlewood State Park due to elevation changes and forested areas. Lowest elevation: 410 ft above sea level. Highest elevation: 650 ft.)
