First Course Announced for the 2014 Spring Trail Run Series

Welcome to the first race of the 2014 Alpine Shop Spring Trail Run Series! We hope you’re ready for some new challenges and some new courses as we begin this brand new series.

While the course may be similar, we’ll be starting from a brand new point as we move the start line back near the pavilion just past the Kiefer Creek bridge in the park. We’ll head immediately across the bridge and head West towards the Park office and continue all the way to the far edge of the park where we’ll cross Kiefer Creek Road once again and head up the Justin’s Trail section of the Grotpeter Trail. Be ready for some climbing all the way until we reach the Ries Rd. crossing and then we’ll work our way to the Fern Glenn Connector to complete the second half of the race until we arrive back in the valley. Now, here’s where the weather comes in… If Kiefer Creek is not flooded by the expected rains, and it’s not too cold, the final section of the race will cross the creek just to the North of the Kiefer Creek Rd. bridge and then back to the finish line. If the weather doesn’t allow it, we’ll simply use the bridge instead.

The expected distance is close 3.1 miles.

You’ll find links to all the results here on offroadracingleague.com following the race.

If inclement weather does hit us on Thursday, we will make every attempt to run the race as scheduled – rain or shine. Further information will be posted on this site, as well as on Alpine Shop’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
