2016 Off-Road Racing League Point System

We’re looking to crown the St. Louis area’s top multi-sport athletes as the 2016 Off-Road Racing League Champions! How will we do it? Simple. Alpine Shop will award points for both men and women in our overall and masters divisions for certain races during the 2016 Off-Road Racing League schedule (see below). The top point totals after the Castlewood 8-Hour Adventure Race in December will be crowned champions.

So, how do you get points?

Not all races during the 2016 schedule score points towards the overall championships, and not all races score equal points.

Most trail runs (our most popular events) will score points for the top 9 finishers in each division (10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2) with all other finishers receiving a point. However, for the Spring Series, only the first race of the series will count towards total ORRL points. (Note, the Spring Series will crown champions for categories within its own series. Those points will not go towards the full year ORRL points.)

Over the summer, both the Paddle-fest will feature opportunities to score points at an increased rate. For those races, points will be scored for the top 7 in each division (20-18-16-14-12-10-8) will all other finishers receiving 2 points.

Finally, the Castlewood 8-Hour Adventure Race in December will give participants the opportunity to round out their series totals by competing with a team. Final places in each division will earn points for each individual on the team.
